Innsbruck is the capital of the Austrian state of Tirol, and due to it's prime location in the alps, has twice hosted he Winter Olympic Games (1964/76). Situated on the River Inn, from where the city gets it's name, there is an historic Old Town dating back to the 12th century. The Little Golden Roof is the main landmark of the Old Town. Not to be missed is the Hofburg and the Cathedral.
