Austria is one of the most beautiful destinations at Christmas time. The proliferation of the traditional Christmas Markets in small towns and large cities sets a special atmosphere in the month preceding the celebration of the birth of the Christ child. We have selected Christmas Markets that are more renowned and noted for their colourful stalls and settings.

Tour Itinerary:

14 Dec.                MUNICH AIRPORT – REGENSBURG

Your tour starts from the Hotel Kempinski at Munich Airport at 2.00pm Please contact our office if you wish to have pre-tour nights booked in Munich city or at the airport.

We travel 1.5hrs north-east of Munich to the city of Regensburg, at the confluence of the Rivers Regen and Danube. Check in at the Achat Plaza Herzog am Dom in the centre of the old town. You have free time, perhaps to start exploring the Christmas Markets that are set up around the cathedral square. Dinner at leisure this evening.

15 Dec.                REGENSBURG

Breakfast at the hotel. A highlight of our tour is a visit to the Palace of Thurn and Taxisa – just 10 minutes walk from our hotel through, the old town. This magnificent palace emerged from the buildings of the former Benedictine monastery of St. Emmeram. Inside the courtyard of the palace is a beautiful Christmas Market and you have plenty of time here to enjoy sounds and aromas of Christmas. There’s also the Carrriage Museum and the Palace Treasury which can be toured for an additional fee. The afternoon can be spent enjoying the Christmas Markets in the old town or just wandering the narrow streets of the historic district. Dinner at leisure this evening. Your Tour Manager can offer suggestions. (B)

16 Dec.                 REGENSBURG – STEYR – VIENNA

Today we depart Regensburg and head for Austria, making our way to the town of Steyr. The unique ambience of the Christkindl Town of Steyr during the Christmas season is accentuated by the enchanting Christmas market “Old town of Steyr” in the historic Stadtplatz square. After several hours here to explore the markets and have lunch, we drive the short distance to Vienna and check-in at the Hotel de France. We will have a “farewell” dinner for those leaving the tour and a “welcome” dinner for those joining our Austrian White Christmas tour. (B, D)

17 Dec.                 VIENNA – End of Tour

For those finishing their tour, breakfast is included at the hotel. For those continuing on the Austrian White Christmas tour, we start our tour of the city and visit to Schonbrunn Palace. (B)

Tour Price Reduction:

If you are continuing on our Austrian White Christmas tour – there is a price reduction of $120 if sharing a double room, or $165 in a single room.
